Officer in charge of specialist paramedics found out about Bondi Junction stabbings ‘by accident’, inquest told

Duty officer, who can’t be named, also tells inquest that ballistic gear kept in central location should be ‘available at a location that is convenient’

A specialised paramedic who was duty officer for NSW Ambulance’s special operations team on the day of the Bondi Junction stabbing attack has told a court he learned of the major incident “by accident”.

The duty officer also told the inquest into the deaths of six people in April 2024 that specialist paramedics did not have easy access to ballistic personal protective equipment (PPE).
