On Wednesday, we realized what this man was busy doing on Independence Day. Instead of attending traditional state events, he dug the tunnel that he hopes would take him to the political Promised Land, the summer recess. This is the scheme: to achieve peace in the last week of July thereby ensuring the survival of his government until November. Surviving 13 months after the massacre? That is total victory.
